“I thought we came out and did what we wanted to in the first half,” North Scott head coach Kevin Tippet said.
After the Muskies (0-4) went three-and-out, North Scott put together a 17-play, 76-yard scoring drive, capped by another Rus touchdown. Jacob Porth ran for a 55-yard score to give the Lancers a 21-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
The Lancers added two more scores in the second quarter – a 25-yard field goal by Andrew Lundvall and a 64-yard pass from Nile McLaughlin to Dylan Belk on broken coverage – and the clock ran continuously in the second half.

Touchdown runs of 20 yards by Simmons and 49 yards by Braxton Zimmerman eventually made it 21-7. The Blue Devils later got within 28-21 on Hill’s second touchdown but Prairie used its ground game to chew up the clock and seal the win.
