Collin Glazek

School: Davenport North

Sport: Track and field

Year: Senior

Glazek qualified for the state meet in a maximum four events, including three victories in last Thursday's state-qualifying meet. He won the 200 in 22.06 seconds, anchored the 400 relay and ran on the victorious 800 relay. Glazek also earned a state spot in the 100 with a season-best time of 10.94.

Daria Parchert

School: Rockridge

Sport: Softball

Year: Senior

Parchert went 9 for 13 with a double, two home runs and 14 RBIs last week, highlighted by a game Friday against LaSalle-Peru in which the shortstop went 4-for-4 with a double, two home runs and seven RBIs. She's hitting .392 with 10 doubles, four home runs and 36 RBIs for the 27-6 Rockets.

Luke Fennelly

School: Assumption

Sport: Boys tennis

Year: Senior

Fennelly advanced to the Class 1A boys state tennis tournament after winning the singles crown at Thursday's district tournament in Eldridge. The team's top player did not drop a set in three matches, including a 7-5, 6-0 triumph in the finals over teammate Jack Thomas.

Ben Woeber and Jesse Dyer claimed the Western Big Six doubles title while leading the Alleman boys to their first boys conference tennis title since 1994. Joey Miller took second in singles and Dallas and Andrew Foss fourth in doubles.

Easton Valley boys golf

Last week: captured Class 1A sectional golf title

The River Hawks posted a 349 total to win last Friday's Class 1A sectional at Little Bear Golf Course in Wyoming by 37 strokes. Carson McNeil was the meet medalist by five strokes with his 78. Kyle Petersen, Justin Farrell, Liam Bauer and Lucas Miller also were in the top 8 for Easton Valley.

Pleasant Valley girls soccer

Last week: claimed Waverly-Shell Rock tournament

The Spartans went 3-0 Saturday with a 5-0 win over Gladbrook-Reinbeck, a 5-1 win over Council Bluffs St. Albert and a 2-0 win over Waverly-Shell Rock to claim their third straight title at the tournament. Senior Ellie Kurth scored six goals in the tournament and now has 99 in her career.
