Sport: Boys swimming
Aman defended his title in the 200 individual medley on Saturday at the state meet in Iowa City. Battling illness, the Wisconsin recruit finished the race in 1 minute, 50.49 seconds. He also anchored the Bulldogs to a school record and state title in the 200 freestyle relay (1:24.82), was second in the 100 backstroke (50.81) and swam on the fifth place 200 medley relay.
Ranked ninth in Illinois Class 3A at 195 pounds, Henning earned a sectional title on Saturday in Alton. After opening with a pair of technical fall wins, Henning (35-7) pinned Yorkville's 11th-ranked Ben Stemmet in the finals in 3 minutes, 51 seconds. He'll be one of three Maroons competing at the state tournament this week in Champaign.
Sport: Girls basketball
Averaging around 3 points per game for the season entering last Friday, Long came off the bench and tied a school record with nine 3-point field goals and scored a career-high 29 points for the Muskies in their road win over Davenport West. The 5-foot-5 freshman was 10 of 15 from the field along with a pair of assists.

The Knights secured their 11th consecutive trip to the state duals tournament with wins over Mount Vernon (35-29) and Washington (44-27). Assumption also advanced five individuals to the Class 2A state tournament at Saturday's district meet in Fairfield — Matt Robertson, Kole Kreinbring, Julien Broderson, Seth Adrian and Henry Martens.
Davenport West boys basketball
Last week: defeated North and Muscatine
The Falcons went on the road and knocked off two teams either tied or above them in the conference standings. Brett Erwin had 23 points and 10 rebounds in a 67-63 victory over North, and Trey Sampson finished with 22 points and 10 bards in a 58-48 triumph against Muscatine. The Falcons held all-stater Joe Wieskamp to 24 points, his second lowest point total of the season.
Wethersfield girls basketball
Last week: won Class 1A regional title
Behind 25 points from Brittney Litton and 11 from Lexi Nichols, Wethersfield clobbered Amboy 59-39 on Friday to capture its 25th win of the season and a regional championship, the program's first in six years. Nichols and Litton also tallied double figures during the Flying Geese's 73-34 regional semifinal win over LaMoille-Ohio.
