David Gonzalez, sr., Camanche: Came home from Iowa Class 2A state meet with three medals. Was sixth in 200 (22.84) along with anchoring fourth place 800 relay and running on fourth place 400 relay. 

Terry Harris, sr., Central DeWitt: Compiled four medals at 3A state meet, finishing seventh in 100 and eighth in 200 along with participating on fourth place 400 relay and sixth place 800 relay. Ran school-record 10.88 in 100 at Wamac meet.

Tanner Iske, jr., West Liberty: Was 3A state runner-up in 100 (11.09), anchored fifth place sprint medley relay and 11th place 800 relay at state. Iske ran season-best 10.91 at districts and 10.92 in prelims at state in 100.

Evan Reifert, sr., Wilton: Placed third at state in 2A long jump (21 feet, 1 inch) while also being a state qualifier in 200 and 400. He ran second fastest 200 in River Valley Conference (22.79) and tops in the 400 (50.91). 

Middle distance

Koby Brackemeyer, fr., Morrison: Earned a trip to Illinois 1A state meet in two individual events. He placed eighth in 800 with a school-record time of 1:57.56 and ran 4:39.99 in the 1,600. 

Ben Buresh, jr., Annawan-Wethersfield: A football and basketball standout, Buresh was fourth at 1A state meet in 400 (50.59) along with taking third in the long jump (22-2).  

Will DeHaan, jr., Central DeWitt: Anchored Sabers to a 3A state championship in the distance medley relay along with earning medals in the 800 (third, 1:58.83) and 1,600 (sixth, 4:28.46). He ran 1:58.17 at districts.

Wyatt Schmidt, jr., Northeast: Ran a personal-best 1:57.64 in the 800 at 2A state meet to place third. He also was 11th in the 1,600 (4:31.54) and anchored fourth place distance medley relay. He was River Valley Conference champion in 800 and 1,600. 

Nick Swartzendruber, jr., Geneseo: Returned from Illinois 2A state meet with three medals, anchoring Leafs' state title 1,600 relay and second place 3,200 relay along with finishing seventh in 400 (50.44). 


Buddy Darting, fr., Wilton: Class 2A state qualifier in 1,600 and 3,200, Darting ran season-best 4:49 in mile at conference meet and a personal-best 10:16.74 in 3,200 at state meet. 

Blake Duncan, jr., Geneseo: Recorded a 9:51.96 in the 3,200 at Northern Illinois Big 12 meet along with a season-best 4:41.08 in the 1,600. 

Ethan Morrow, sr., Mercer County: Ran lead-off leg on second-place 1A state 3,200 relay team and took ninth in the 1,600 (4:26.19). He was Lincoln Trail Conference champion in 800 and 1,600. 

Eli Witt, jr., Bellevue: Was fourth at River Valley Conference meet in 1,600 (4:44.70) and sixth in 3,200. He was state qualifier in 3,200 where he ran a season-best 10:14.21.


Mike Neeld, sr., Mercer County: Placed in three events at 1A state meet, sixth in 300 hurdles (39.43) and ran on third place 400 and 800 relays. He was Lincoln Trail champ in both hurdle races. 

Andrew Pischke, sr., Geneseo: Was a 2A state qualifier in 110 high hurdles (14.88) and ran a 39.60 in Northern Illinois Big 12 meet in 300 hurdles. Ran 15.18 in 110 highs at sectionals. 

Reed Vanderheyden, jr., Geneseo: Finished with a medal in both hurdle events at 2A state meet -- fifth in 300 hurdles (38.83) and seventh in 110 highs (15.02) -- along with running on state championship 1,600 relay. He had season-best 14.64 in 110 highs and 37.94 in 300 hurdles.


Axel Dondiego, sr., Northeast: Finished fifth at 2A state meet in high jump (6-2) and placed third at River Valley Conference meet (6-4). He cleared 6-7 at Mount Vernon in late March.

Noah Feldman, sr., West Liberty: Was second at River Valley Conference meet in high jump (6-4) and third at 3A state meet with career-best leap of 6-6. He also ran on Comets' state-qualifying 400 and 800 relays.

Ryver Griffin, jr., Geneseo: Qualified for Illinois 2A state meet in triple jump soaring 42-8 1/2. He jumped 41-2 in preliminaries at state meet. 

Braeden Hoyer, so., Northeast: Placed fourth at state in 2A high jump (6-4) and was River Valley Conference champion at 6-6. Had a season-best jump of 6-8 in Dubuque. Hoyer also ran the 400 leg on Rebels' fourth place distance medley relay. 

Alex Martens, sr., Midland: A football and basketball standout for the Eagles, Martens finished third at 1A state meet with career-best clearance of 6-4 in high jump. 

Cole Moeller, sr., Calamus-Wheatland: Became just the fourth boy in Iowa history to claim three consecutive high jump titles. The Iowa signee, who was fourth at Drake Relays, leaped 6-8 to take 1A title and jumped season best 6-9.


Kyle McLuckie, sr., Fulton: Captured the Three Rivers Conference title in shot put (50-9) and was runner-up in the discus (134-11). He placed eighth at 1A state meet in shot put (50-10 1/4). 

Ty Oster, sr., Bellevue: Placed third at River Valley Conference meet in shot put (49-1 1/4) and discus (141-1). He was 10th at 2A state meet in discus (151-1) and 16th in shot. 

Sam Thomas, sr., Geneseo: Indiana State football recruit and state wrestling place winner earned an eighth-place medal in 2A shot put with heave of 52-7 1/2.
