Sprinters

Arthur Braden, jr., Pleasant Valley: Runner-up at the conference meet in the 100, Braden was a state qualifier in the 100 (11.10). He also ran on PV's state-qualifying 400, 800 and sprint medley relays. Posted a season-best time of 10.92 in 100 at state-qualifying meet. 

Demariye Carpenter, sr., United Township: Placed second at the Big Six Conference meet in the 100 and 200. His top 100 time was 11.04 and ran a 22.45 in the 200. 

Collin Glazek, sr., Davenport North: He was Class 4A state runner-up in 200 (22.24 seconds), anchored third place 400 relay and ran on fifth place 800 relay. Also a state qualifier in the 100, Glazek was MAC 200 champion and ran season-best 10.94 in 100 at districts.

Ezekiel Hayslett, sr., Davenport North: Recorded a 10.99 in 100 at 4A state meet, placed sixth in 200 (22.71) and ran on North's third place 400 relay and fifth place 800 relay at state. Hayslett was first team all-MAC in 200 after running 22.68 at conference meet.

Courtney Lindsey, jr., Rock Island: Placed sixth at Illinois Class 3A state meet in 200. The 100- and 200-meter Big Six champion, a perennial winner in most meets, ran season-best time of 10.71 in 100 and 21.87 in 200. He also qualified for state in 100. 

Middle distance

Keshaun Baker, jr., Pleasant Valley: Conference champion in the 400, Baker placed third at 4A state meet in event (48.91), his second top three at state. He also anchored PV's state-qualifying 800 and sprint medley relays. Baker was second at MAC meet in long jump (21-9).

Mark Conway, sr., Pleasant Valley: The MAC 1,600-meter champion placed fourth in the event at 4A state meet (4:18.56). He also ran a leg on the Spartans' sixth place 3,200 relay at state and anchored PV to MAC title in that event. 

Tyler Olson, jr., Muscatine: Collected Muscatine's only medal at 4A state meet with a fourth-place finish in 800 in personal best 1:55.90. Also fourth at Drake Relays, Olson was MAC champion in 800 and runner-up in 1,600 (4:36.59). 

Darien Porter, so., Bettendorf: Became Bettendorf's first 400-meter state champion with a school-record time of 48.24 seconds. He also anchored Bulldogs to state championship in sprint medley relay with 47.5 split. Porter also powered Bettendorf to Drake Relays title in 1,600 relay.

Distance

Dalton Martin, jr., United Township: Big Six champion in 1,600 and 3,200, Martin ran a season-best 2:01.97 in 800, 4:31.66 in the 1,600 and 9:38.16 in the 3,200. He was 3A state qualifier in 3,200, finishing 21st in 9:46.55. 

Anthony Pena, jr., Pleasant Valley: Won the MAC title in the 3,200 (9:59.02) and placed second in the 800. At 4A state meet, he ran lead leg on PV's sixth place 3,200 relay, participated in 1,600 relay and was 16th in 800 (1:58.32). 

Spencer Smith, jr., Alleman: Finished 13th at 2A state meet in 3,200 (9:49.66) and was second at Big Six. Smith placed third in the conference in 1,600 (4:38.39). 

Konnor Sommer, jr., Pleasant Valley: Came home from 4A state meet with pair of medals -- fifth in 1,600 (career-best 4:19.89) and seventh in 3,200 (9:30.16). He ran a PR in 3,200 at Drake Relays (9:21.82) to finish inside the top 10. 

Hurdles

Suni Lane, sr., Bettendorf: Northern Iowa football recruit tied for fourth at 4A state meet in high jump (6-2), ran a conference-best 53.11 in 400 hurdles at districts and placed seventh at state in 54.92. Lane registered a time of 15.03 in 110 hurdles at Jesse Day Relays, second best in MAC.

Demari Nicholson, jr., Bettendorf: Captured MAC title in 400 hurdles (54.60) and placed 12th at 4A state meet in 55.63. He ran the 200 leg on Bulldogs' state championship sprint medley relay and was part of quartet to win a Drake Relays title in the 1,600 relay. 

Jumpers

Casey Comodore, sr., Rock Island: A 3A state qualifier in long jump, Comodore was second at Moline sectional with a leap of 22 feet, 9 inches. Comodore, who plans to long jump next year at Western Illinois, jumped 21-4 1/2 in prelims at state meet.

Logan Francis, jr., United Township: A state qualifier in high jump, Francis was Big Six champion in the event and runner-up in pole vault. His season best in high jump was 6-5 and pole vault 12-1, that coming at conference meet. 

Kevin Kurth, sr., Davenport Central: Headed to compete at Army, Kurth was 4A state champion in long jump (22-3 1/2), the school's first since Kenny Gilmore in 2011. Kurth, MAC champion in long jump and 100, placed fifth at state in 100. He ran season-best 10.85 in 100 at districts.

Eddie Sierra Lee, sr., United Township: Was the Big Six champion in pole vault with jump of 13 feet, 11 inches. Season best was 14-1. 

Jean-Luc Soglohun, sr., United Township: Big Six champion in long jump and triple jump, Soglohun was fourth at 3A state meet in triple jump. He is school's record holder in long jump (23-9 1/4) and triple jump (47-10 1/2). He was 3A sectional runner-up. 

Throwers

Nathan Graves, sr., Alleman: Big Six champion in discus (157-8) placed fourth in triple jump and high jump and third in long jump at conference meet. Expected to be a decathlete at Montana, he was 2A state qualifier in high jump, triple jump and discus. 

Sam Hanna, jr., Pleasant Valley: Emerged on the scene late in the season. He placed seventh at 4A state meet in shot put (personal best of 52-8 1/4) and just missed getting a state medal in the discus (154-0). He was third at MAC in both throwing events.

Cody Snyder, sr., Pleasant Valley: Threw the discus a career-best and school record 176-6 at the conference meet for a league title. Runner-up at MAC meet in shot put, Snyder placed sixth at 4A state meet with toss of 53-5 1/2. 

Cole Webster, sr., Bettendorf: Northern Illinois football recruit was MAC shot put champion with career-best throw of 57-9. Drake Relays qualifier placed fifth at 4A state meet in discus (161-8) and had a PR of 179-9 at the Muscatine Invitational. 

Xavier Wickersham, jr., United Township: Finished 12th at 3A state meet in discus (152-4) but had season best of 158-10 and threw 49-11 in shot put. Placed in top six in shot put and discus at Moline sectional.
