Pleasant Valley undefeated at MAC-MVC Shootout: Class 5A 15th ranked Pleasant Valley went undefeated in Thursday's MAC-MVC Challenge at Cedar Rapids Prairie, winning all three matches of the day.

Sixth-ranked Bettendorf went 2-1.

The Bulldogs beat Cedar Rapids Kennedy and Cedar Rapids Prairie and lost to Iowa City West 21-10, 21-17.

Caroline Baer had 16 kills in the three matches, while Jordan Ratigan added eight and Emma Ostrom five. Ostrom also had four combined aces in the three matches, and Lita Solbrig added three.

Erin Hatch was strong defensively with 28 total digs, 15 coming in the win over Prairie. 

North Scott went 1-2 on the day, defeating Prairie, helping the MAC win the event 6-3.

The Spartans are now 4-0 on the season while the Bulldogs are 3-1 and the Lancers 1-3.

Moline 2, Davenport West 0: Bella Mitchell had 20 assists, eight digs and an ace to help the Maroons beat the Falcons Thursday night, 25-16, 25-10.

Kiya Ritchie led the Maroons with eight kills along with Molly Tauke who had five. Maddie Peterson added 11 digs for Moline.

Davenport North 3, United Township 0: Justyus Jackson had eight kills and six blocks to help the Wildcats beat the Panthers 25-17, 25-12, 25-19 and improve to 2-0 on the season.

Morgan Pollmiller was also a key factor, adding six kills, eight digs and four aces for the Wildcats.

UT was led by Sarah Jones, who had six kills and four digs.

Cross country

Bettendorf, Alleman win Moline Invite: The Alleman boys and Bettendorf girls cross country teams won the Moline Invite. Alleman's Spenser Smith won the individual medal with a time of 15 minutes, 23.4 seconds for the boys, while Quincy's Lydia Kurfman won for the girls with a time of 18:24.4, ahead of Bettendorf's Trinity Borland's 18:58.2.

North Scott wins invite: The North Scott boys cross country team won the Trojan Early Bird Invitational in Iowa City, while Assumption's Chris Guise won the individual title in 16:49. The Knights finished second as a team. The Lancer girls finished second in their race, with Assumption finishing third.
