WATERLOO, Iowa — No seniors, no problem for the Wilton boys golf team.
Led by sophomore Jared Townsen's 83, the Beavers compiled a team score of 347 at Friday's Class 2A district meet in Waterloo to advance to the state tournament May 26 and 27 at Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge.
Sophomore Jake Ftatzke (86) and juniors Nolan Leaton (89) and Tyler Harman (89) joined Townsen in the 80s.
Brock Harley and Brayton Wade, also sophomores, rounded out the Beavers scoring, shooting a 106 and 115, respectively.
Durant senior Leo Callison will see his season extended, qualifying for state as an individual after shooting a 79, which was the ninth-lowest score of the 13 individual qualifiers.
