Travis Granbois established himself as a smiling hockey pest with the Quad-City Mallards as a rookie in 2006-07.
He returned to the Quad-Cities this week after his International Hockey League rights were acquired from Bloomington on Monday for future considerations.
"He's supposed to play with jam and some moxie, works hard and plays physical so hopefully he adds that to our lineup,'' Q-C coach Frank Anzalone said. "The fact he played in Quad-Cities was a positive. He's a presence as far as emotion. He's been in the league, he's battled, he's had some fights and understands that kind of a role.''
Granbois had 13 goals and 38 points for Bloomington last year. A year earlier, he had 10 goals, 31 points and 136 penalty minutes in Kalamazoo. He replaces rookie forward Sal Peralta, who was waived Sunday.
