The Quad-City Mallards announced Tuesday that they have re-signed left wing Obi Aduba for the upcoming season, although the Mallards could lose him pending a fall tryout he will have with the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.

The Falcons are the top minor league affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets.

If the Falcons do not sign Aduba, the Mallards would return a player who had 51 points last season to tie for the team lead and led Quad-City with eight power-play goals.

In two seasons with the Mallards, Aduba has not missed a game. Last year, he was one of just three players to appear in every Mallards regular-season game.
