Quad-City Mallards center Jean Desrochers has retired from hockey.
The 29-year-old, who played in the Mallards' first three games, didn't make the trip with the team to Bloomington on Wednesday. In his five-plus pro seasons, Desrochers scored 92 goals and totaled 215 points in 327 games.
The Mallards signed forward Domenic Maiani, who started the season with the Central Hockey League's Tulsa Oilers.
Maiani broke into pro hockey by playing three games with the ECHL's Johnstown Chiefs in 2007-08 after a three-year collegiate career at Ohio State.
The Mallards return to the ice Saturday at the i wireless Center against Muskegon at 7 p.m.
