The Quad-City Mallards signed three players to tryout agreements Monday, forwards Connor Gorman and Trever Hertz and defenseman Kevin Kirisits.
Gorman, 25, scored 22 goals and added 14 assists for 36 points with a plus-13 rating in 55 games as a rookie last year with the Southern Professional Hockey League's Peoria Rivermen. He finished tied for sixth in the SPHL in goals.
Hertz, 27, scored 14 goals and added 23 assists for 37 points in 50 games with the SPHL's Knoxville Ice Bears last year. In 166 career SPHL games Hertz has scored 47 goals and 74 assists for 121 points.
Kirisits, 25, was a teammate of Gorman's in Peoria for three games last year as a rookie, picking up one assist. He came to the Rivermen after a collegiate career at Utica College, where he was a teammate of Hertz for one season.
“I’ve heard very good things about Connor, Trever and Kevin and I’m looking forward to seeing them in training camp,” Mallards coach Phil Axtell said. “They’re all hard-working guys who are going to come in and compete for roster spots.”
