6:30-9 p.m.: Walk This Way for United Way - Participants raise money for charity with a walk up the Brady Street Hill. Entry fee includes a party to watch the Brady Street Challenge. (For more, go to

7 p.m.: Brady Street Challenge - Runners compete in a quarter-mile sprint up the Brady Street Hill. Competition includes individual and high school relay teams.


6 p.m.: Alcoa Jr. Bix 7 - Kids ages 1-12 compete in races of varying distances. (Limited to first 3,500 entries.)


8 a.m.: Quad-City Times Bix 7 - For the 35th straight year, runners and walkers will charge up the Brady Street Hill and wind their way through some of Davenport's oldest neighborhoods. Entrants have the option of gong 7 miles or only 2, in the Lee Enterprises Quick Bix.

Entries still are being accepted online at and in person at the Quad-City Times building.

You also can sign up Thursday or Friday at the Orthopaedic Specialists Sports and Wellness Expo in the Davenport RiverCenter.

Race packet pick up

Packet pickup will be at the RiverCenter in downtown Davenport, located at the

corner of 3rd and Perry streets.

Local entries are encouraged to get their packets during an early-pickup period from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

Packets also will be available from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Friday, and there will be limited pickup available but no registration from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. on the day of the race.

Parking on race day

The recommended parking for race day is near Modern Woodmen Park and the

Centennial Bridge, several blocks west of the starting area.

The lots are free and easily accessed via the Centennial Bridge and River Drive from the west.

Also, there is streetside parking in places, and there are three downtown parking ramps, 101 Main St., 202 Harrison St. and the RiverCenter ramp across 3rd Street from the Adler Theatre, 136 E. 3rd St.
