You can help

Homeless shelters and homeless assistance groups and agencies throughout the Quad-Cities need and welcome donations of dry goods — from foods of all types to bottled water to diapers and baby clothes to clothing, coats and shoes.

They need toilet paper, too.

Mostly, they need cash donations to support assistance programs that include meals, street outreach, shelter assistance and more.

All organizations welcome volunteers.

For an extensive list of shelters and homeless assistance agencies in the Quad-Cities, go to qctimes.com.

Cash donations also can be made to the Fund for the Homeless at the Community Foundation Great River Bend, 852 Middle Road, Suite 100, Bettendorf, IA 52722.
