A vehicle crashed into the Buffalo Fire Department early Friday after the driver fell asleep at the wheel.
According to a release posted to its Facebook page, Buffalo police were called at 4:26 a.m. for a report of a vehicle that had driven through the fire department, 122 E. Front St.
Police say that after falling asleep and leaving the roadway, the driver of a silver Dodge Neon awoke but was unable to stop the vehicle before it struck the building.
The vehicle penetrated the east wall and struck the fire department's dive trailer, which then struck another truck, according to police.
The damage to the building and all vehicles involved is extensive, but there were no injuries during this incident, according to police.
Because the fire department is all volunteer, donations can be made to assist with the damage, authorities said.
Anyone wishing to donate should contact Fire Chief Terry Adams via e-mail at email@example.com or telephone at 563-381-3473.
