Scott Community College is seeking a Dean of Student Development Under the direction of the SCC President this position will be responsible for: Serving as a key member of the Scott Community College (SCC) leadership team. Also serves as a key member of the EICC Student Development team, working collaboratively across the district in support of student development initiatives. Provides leadership and direction for the SCC Student Development unit, as well as the delivery of high-quality student services and programming that meet the needs of the community and region. Provides oversight for operations of the SCC Student Development unit, consistent with EICC policies, procedures and initiatives. Provides leadership for the growth and development of the unit, consistent with the strategic priorities and initiatives of EICC. Represents SCC and EICC in the community and region. The Dean of Student Development is responsible for the development and supervision of all facets of the comprehensive student development programs aimed at enhancing the success of its students. Specific oversight responsibilities include the planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of records and registration, advising, counseling services, retention and completion programs, career services and job placement, financial aid, athletics, student activities, graduation, and transfer services. The Dean of Student Development will work in close collaboration with the Scott Community College Leadership Team, faculty, staff, and students with the goal of supporting student success and completion. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Master’s degree required, doctorate degree preferred. • Administrative experience required. Administrative experience at a community college or related student development experience preferred, including supervision of personnel. • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, administration, and the community. • Evidence of effective, student-centered leadership. • Proven ability to manage budgets, plan, implement, and evaluate processes.
