VOTE NO! TUES. DEC. 11TH ON THE BETTENDORF GO $30 Million Bond Referendum To be paid for by Bettendorf home owners and business property owners over the next 20 years with an increase of $1.55 per $1,000.00 of assessed property value. THE AVERAGE BETTENDORF HOME OWNER WILL PAY: Assessed Property Value Annual Tax Increase $150,000 $232.50 $250,000 $350,000 $500,000 $650,000 > > > > > $387.50 $542.50 $775.00 $1,007.50 THE AVERAGE BETTENDORF BUSINESS PROPERTY OWNER WILL PAY: Assessed Property Value Annual Tax Increase $1,000,000 $1,500,000 $2,000,000 $3,000,000 > > > > $1,500.00 $2,325.00 $3,100.00 $4,650.00 We support the Bettendorf School Administration plan to make improvements to the district’s buildings and infrastructure by using the available tax payer funded sources and avoid burdening home owners and businesses with higher property taxes. We oppose asking taxpayers to vote for paying higher property taxes to complete projects immediately when projects could be funded over the next few years with current funds that are provided to the district. According to the district’s own time line, all projects would be completed in 3 to 6 years. These projects can be funded by The Iowa Local Option Sales and Service Tax (LOSST) and Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL) that are existing tax payer funded resources the Bettendorf School District has available to maintain, and expand their buildings. Using these funds eliminates the need for a Bond Referendum and to increase taxes. PLEASE VOTE NO ON TUESDAY, DECEMBER 11TH, 2018. LET’S KEEP OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT FROM GOING INTO FURTHER LONG TERM DEBT OVER THE NEXT 20 YEARS AND MAINTAIN A FISCALLY RESPONSIBLE SCHOOL DISTRICT. Paid for by the Bettendorf Citizens for Fiscal Responsibility
