EICC (Urban Campus) is seeking a FT. Payroll Accountant/Processor. (Hourly – Class 1) Under the direction of the Director of Business Services, this position will be responsible for: • Process bi-weekly payroll for all hourly & salary employees. • Enter and ensure on-line and paper time sheets are correct and ready for processing. • Verify deductions, prepares and submits payments and reports for federal and state taxes, FICA deposits, pension and annuity deposits, and miscellaneous payroll deductions. • Balance all payroll deductions and salaries on a monthly, quarterly, yearly (fiscal and calendar) to college general ledgers. • Accurately prepare journal entries for budgeting, payroll salaries, and fringe benefits. • Prepare year-end payroll accrual journal entries. • Ensure that all applicable tax tables are maintained and remain current within payroll system. • Process manual payroll checks as necessary. • Prepare, process, and distribute W-2’s to all EICCD employees. • Maintain payroll transaction files. • Coordination with bank and various state and federal tax authorities. • Work closely with Human Resource department as necessary. • Must maintain a commitment to providing quality service that meets or exceeds the expectations of internal and external customers. Qualifications will include: • Associates degree, accounting or business administration required. • Five years of current payroll processing experience. • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates. • Knowledge of pertinent federal and state payroll tax regulations, filing and compliance requirements. • Excellent computer skills to include HRIS/Payroll/Microsoft Office Suite. • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to meet the needs of a diverse workforce.
