SCC/WDC is seeking a FT. Career Navigator

This position will be located at the West Davenport Center, Davenport, Iowa
Under the direction of the Associate Dean of Adult Education this position will be responsible for:
• Under limited supervision, the Career Navigator will be responsible for the recruitment and retention of Adult
Education students. The navigator will assist HSE graduates and English Language Acquistiion completers
with their trasition into career pathways, post-secondary education, training, and/or employment. The Career
Navigator is responsible to provide counseling and access to ancillary support services to student participants
during all stages of enrollment, from entry to exit.
Qualifications will include:
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Previous Community College career and academic advising experience preferred.
• Teaching or counseling experience in Adult Education or experience in working with high-risk populations is
preferred.
• Must have the ability to work with a diverse student population, staff, and external constituents.
• Successful candidate must be skilled in maintaining effective relations with administration and instructional
personnel as well as students and the general public.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and community relations skills are required.
• Must have excellent computer skills.
• Successful candidate must possess exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.
