Shelby Marie Slavens and Adam Charles Pelzer were married by Pastor Peter Marty on August 1, 2015, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport. A reception followed at The Outing Club.
Emily Fall, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. Katelyn Witt, Alissa Morrison and Jessica Gandy all served as bridesmaids. Lindsey Harmsen served as Shelby’s personal attendant.
Daniel Pelzer, brother of the groom, served as best man. Matthew O’Donnell, Anthony Franciosi and Bobbie Slavens served as groomsmen.
Audra and Evelin Peterson and Baelynn Goettsch served as the couple’s flower girls. Hudson and Sawyer Fall served as the couple’s ringbearers. Robert Fuller, Michael Moon, Eric Clark and Alexander Harris seated the guests.
Shelby is the daughter of Joe and Ann Slavens of Bettendorf. Her grandmother is Muriel Slavens of Bettendorf. Adam is the son of Edward and Molly Pelzer of Tipton. His grandparents are Jim and Madonna Fitzpatrick of Spring Hill, Florida, and Marjorie Pelzer of Tipton.
Shelby graduated from Bettendorf High School and the University of Iowa College of Nursing with a B.S.N. She is employed by the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and is pursuing her D.N.P. Adam graduated from Tipton High School and received an A.B. with honors from Brown University. He is employed by Prairie Capital Advisors as a Senior Investment Banking Analyst in Cedar Rapids.
Shelby and Adam honeymooned at Walt Disney World in Florida and on Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas. They currently reside in Iowa City.
