Davenport-based filmmaker Stephen Folker is looking for extras this week for his latest quirky independent flick, “FUAB,” an acronym for “From Uranus and Back.”

“That planet we all laughed at as a child is the home to evil reptilian aliens in our production,” Folker said recently. In the film, eccentric inventor Dr. Sigmund Allen believes he's created a machine which can make contact with Uranus.

Folker is seeking people at least 18 years old to appear on film as college students and professors on May 15-16 at Muscatine Community College. Call time will be 9 a.m. sharp.

He said he also needs extras, at least 18 years old, to appear as shoppers at a grocery store and diner scenes. Filming for those scenes are planned May 17 in Aledo at the Mercer Market. Call time will be 6 a.m.

A professional photographer and filmmaker, Folker last month earned a silver award at the Cedar Rapids Independent Film Festival in the professional short category for directing “Someone Else’s Hero.”

His other films include “The Mustache Movie” in 2012, “Field Freak” in 2016 and “The Orange Man” in 2016. For more details, visit folkerfilms.com or fuabmovie.com.
