Try 3 months for $3

After months of anticipation, managers of Hurts Donut Co. officially announced the doughnut chain will open near the TBK Bank Sports Complex in Bettendorf this fall.

Hurts Donut Co., with locations in Coralville and West Des Moines, chose the Quad-Cities for its third Iowa location in January. The new doughnut shop will open this fall on the corner of Forest Grove and Middle roads, at 5121 Competition Drive, Bettendorf.

"We have the best fans and supporters in the donut universe," managers posted on Facebook Tuesday evening. "The excitement and dedication we have experienced has been joyful and overwhelming. This new store would not be possible without all of you. So, we want to say thank you! Having grown up in the Quad-Cities, it feels good to be back home!"

Managers said the shop is under construction, but did not release an exact opening date. More details and hiring information will be posted on the Hurts Donut Quad-Cities Facebook page

The indoor/outdoor TBK Bank Sports Complex opened earlier this year. It spans 76 acres at Middle and Forest Grove roads. The opening has spurred commercial development at the interchange off Interstate 80. Other development includes Cambria Hotel Bettendorf, a pair of retail strip malls and a gas station, and restaurants Cheesy Cow Mac & Cheesery, Coffee Hound and Subway.
