Isabel Bloom Friendship Bowl

Isabel Bloom's Friendship Bowl will benefit Family Resources' programs with domestic abuse victims.

A limited edition Isabel Bloom sculpture will help support Family Resources' work with survivors of domestic abuse.

Isabel Bloom is offering the Friendship Bowl in a limited edition finish for $38 each, with half of each sale benefiting Family Resources' sheltering and rehousing programs. Only 150 sculptures in the limited edition finish will be available for purchase.

The Friendship Bowl will not be available in Isabel Bloom stores until 2019 and then will be in a different finish.

"It's just a great partnership, it's something we look forward to each year," Sarah Tisinger, Family Resources' communications and event coordinator, said of the collaboration with Isabel Bloom.

The proceeds help benefit individuals and families escaping abusive situations by providing emergency sheltering, food, clothing, relocation and other necessary services.

Family Resources and Isabel Bloom designer Donna Young will host a signing event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., March 10, at Isabel Bloom's store at 1505 River Drive, Moline. Each sculpture will be signed by Young and will include a limited edition dove stamp.

"Isabel Bloom is proud to have supported survivors of domestic abuse through Family Resources for the past nine years with a sculpture finished uniquely for them," said Young, one of the company's co-owners.

This year’s Friendship Bowl is cast in green with a purple heart painted in the center of the bowl — purple is the symbolic color representing the fight against domestic abuse, she added. Around the bowl, the design is of children holding hands with the space between each child forming a heart.

It will include a card with the saying "When action meets compassion lives change."

Tisinger said the sculptures may be ordered in advance at, or purchased at the signing. Pre-ordered sculptures can be picked up at the signing. After the event, the sculptures will be available for pick-up March 12 at Family Resources' main Davenport office at 2800 Eastern Ave.
