A new My Place Hotel, now under construction in north Davenport, is the third of 40 My Place hotels to be built and owned by an Ames, Iowa-based developer.
Construction has begun on the three-story, 64-room hotel at 4653 Progress Drive. The site is directly north of UnityPoint Health Trinity Hospital in Bettendorf.
"We are thrilled to build upon a great location close to UnityPoint Health System's regional care providers as well as global and national headquarters that call the Quad-Cities home," hotel owner Matt Eller said in a news release.
The project is being built and developed by Pro Commercial and Eller Enterprises, which are part of the Eller Group, founded by Eller.
Eller and his partners opened their first My Place hotels late last year including one in Altoona in October and one in Ankeny in December.
A fourth Iowa My Place, located in Council Bluffs, is not owned by Eller.
The Aberdeen, South Dakota-based My Place Hotels of America now has 37 hotels in 18 states spanning from Atlanta, Georgia, to Anchorage, Alaska. Under its new franchise system, the chain has a near-term pipeline of 32 additional hotels and midterm commitments for more than 40 more. The first My Place opened in 2012.
"Matt has assembled talented and highly experienced teams to execute their plan to develop, build and operate 40 My Place Hotels in the next 10 years," said Terry Kline, My Place's executive vice president of franchise development.
Kline credited the chain's "prolific expansion" to efforts of "multiple property developers like Eller who've demonstrated a commitment to their strategic development of My Place Hotels."
All My Place Hotels offer modern amenities and affordable pricing with nightly, weekly and monthly rate options. Each room features a My Kitchen, and there is on-site laundry, high-speed internet, and a 24-hour My Store located in the hotel lobby. A Breakfast in Bed option is available for a minimal cost.
The Davenport hotel will employ between 15 and 20 staff.
Pro Commercial and Eller Enterprises develop, build and own multi-unit properties nationwide, including hotels and apartments complexes.
