BHS student attends national STEM program

Taylor Khoury, a student at Bettendorf High School, attended The National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders in Boston, Massachusetts, in July.

The program gathers the country’s finest high school students who aspire to careers in science, technology engineering and mathematics fields, offering special recognition and ongoing mentorship.

Khoury named Andrew Carnegie Scholar

Brian Khoury, a graduate of Bettendorf High School, was named an Andrew Carnegie Scholar at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, in September. Khoury is an electrical and computer engineering major. According to the university's website, Andrew Carnegie Scholars are undergraduate seniors who demonstrate high standards of academic excellence, volunteerism, leadership and involvement in student organizations, athletics or the arts. They are chosen annually by deans and department heads to represent their class in service and leadership.
