Local Artist to Take Up Residency in the Bettendorf Public Library’s Creation Studio
Pat Bereskin, local artist and owner of Beréskin Gallery in Bettendorf, will be at the Bettendorf Public Library’s Creation Studio 1-4 p.m. Saturdays, Oct. 27 and Nov. 10. Library visitors may drop by the Studio to watch Bereskin painting and demonstrating skills inspired by the French Moderns exhibit at the Figge Museum. This Creation Studio Residency program is being offered in collaboration with the Figge's, "French Moderns: Monet to Matisse, 1850-1950," exhibit.
Pat Bradley Bereskin, a native of Bettendorf, was an art teacher for many years and now operates the Bereskin Art Gallery in downtown Bettendorf. The gallery features Midwestern artists and regional works.
Pleasant Valley High School to offer special performance of Fall musical for local Senior Citizens
The Pleasant Valley High School Drama Department will present an open dress rehearsal of the fall musical, "Kiss Me, Kate," for senior citizens at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31 at Pleasant Valley High School Theatre. There will be no charge for admission and refreshments will be served at intermission.
Attendees may park at the First Baptist Church, 3593 Middle Road. There will be a shuttle bus starting at 12:45 p.m. to take guests to the school and then back to the parking area after the performance. There also will be people available to help guests on and off the buses. Drop off at the high school will be permitted, however, due to construction and school being in session, parking will be extremely limited with only a few handicapped parking spots.

Holiday Bazaar set for Nov. 3
The Friends of the Bettendorf Library will host a Holiday Bazaar at the library on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vendors offer a variety of handmade and prepackaged products such as holiday gifts, jewelry, floral arrangements, cross stitched items, pillows, candles, scented items, packaged edibles, beauty products, fleece blankets, decorative items, and much more. Proceeds from the sale of vendor tables help fund activities at the library.
BHS Students Host Pancake Breakfast for March of Dimes
Bettendorf High School FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) Club will host a March of Dimes pancake breakfast 8-11 a.m. Saturday, Nov.17 in the commons at the school. Tickets are $5.
