Bettendorf youth catches state record fish

Elijah Parrett, 5, of Bettendorf, has been named a Iowa DNR Master Angler for catching a new state record fish. He caught the record setting fish in October 2018 at a fish pond in Van Buren County. The red-eared sunfish weighed in at 2 pounds, 5 ounces and was 12 ⅞ inches long.
