-- Charles Englehart, 70, was struck in the head with a blunt object by an unknown assailant on Sept. 23, 1935, as he got out of his parked vehicle in an alley in the 700 block of Main Street.

-- On Sept. 30, 1947, the body of Margaret Treese, 34, was found by two men on their way to work at Credit Island Park. Treese, aka “The Tattooed Lady,” had been beaten, stabbed 19 times and run over repeatedly by a car.

-- Massie Pittman, 36, a Davenport tavern worker, was found Feb. 17, 1969, in her home at 621 N. Harrison St. with puncture wounds to her face, stomach and neck.

-- Judith Haeker, 18, a student at Palmer Junior College, was found dead March 7, 1971, in her home at 202 E. 15th St. She had been hit in the head with a blunt object and strangled.

-- Clara Schiele, 90, was mugged and pushed down while climbing the front steps to her Davenport home at 1423 Main St. on Aug. 3, 1978, She struck her head on the concrete steps and later died of a skull fracture and internal injuries.

-- Roger Warren, 12, was found Aug. 19, 1979, in the Mississippi River near the Crescent Bridge. He had been strangled.

-- Cody James and Gary Lee Harker, both 30, disappeared Dec. 25, 1979. On April 24, 1980, their bodies were found under debris in the bed of James’ pickup truck purchased at a Davenport Police auto auction.

-- Raymond L. March Jr., 23, was shot and killed June 20, 1998, outside Wilma’s Club in the 1200 block of North Harrison Street.

-- The body of Jorge “Louie”  Gutierrez, 47, was found Oct. 19, 2004,  wrapped in a sleeping bag in the bed of his maroon 1983 Chevrolet pickup truck parked in the 3400 block of South Concord Street. He died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head.

-- The body of Christy Joseph Connor, 19, was found July 24, 2005,  in the trunk of an Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme parked in a driveway in the 200 block of East Central Park Avenue.
