Here are Quad-City area cases being investigated by Iowa’s cold case unit:
-- Ewalt Emil Bandixen. On Oct. 28, 1974, Bandixen was found dead at 11:30 a.m. in his service station in Folletts because of a gunshot wound.
-- Hulda Emma Fischer. She was found dead in her Maquoketa home by neighbors on Feb. 25, 1975.
-- Amber Marie Hayes. The infant was kidnapped and subsequently killed. She was reported missing on June 9, 1988. Parts of her body and a blanket were found four days later in Muscatine.
-- Pamela Hinrich. She was shot and killed while working at the Amvets Club in Clinton on the evening of Jan. 12, 1980.
--Baby (Jane Doe Lincoln). On Nov. 10, 1996, the body of a newborn infant was found in a garbage bag in a barn at a residence in Cedar County.
-- Thomas Mather. On Sept. 30, 1991, a male intruder entered Tom and Dawn Mather’s home in rural Cedar County. Dawn Mather escaped to another residence. Tom was later found dead from a gunshot wound to the head.
-- Felicitas Terrill. On the morning of April 14, 1986, the body of Felicitas Terrill was found in her Muscatine home with four gunshot wounds to the head in what appeared to be a burglary.
-- Scott M. Tompkins. He was shot by an assailant while he stopped to fix his windshield wipers in Muscatine. He was able to make it for medical treatment and later died on Nov. 29, 1995. Before his death, he was able to make a statement to police about the incident.
-- Corey Lee Wieneke. On Oct. 13, 1992, his body was discovered by his fiancée at his residence located west of West Liberty.
