Church Women United of the Q-C host fellowship day

Church Women United of the Q-C will hold its Fall Fellowship Day at 9 a.m., Friday, Sept. 19, at Christ United Methodist Church, 3801 7th St., East Moline.

The program will feature Kiki Pregracke talking about Living Lands and Waters. Cost is $6 and includes brunch. Make reservations by Monday, Sept. 15.

Lutheran women to hold fall rally

The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Central Illinois District, will hold its fall rally from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Milan. The public is invited.

Opening devotions will be given by the Rev. Gregory Michel of St. Matthew. The featured speaker will be Dona Martin of Lutheran Church Charities. Martin is a director for the Lutheran Church Charities K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry. She coordinates K-9 site visits, works with K-9 handlers and helps in the placement of K-9 Comfort Dogs nationally.

The rally will include a collection for the Milan Christian Food Pantry. Items needed are toilet paper, laundry detergent, dish soap, shampoo, peanut butter, jelly, syrup, pancake mix, cereal and juice. Monetary donations are welcomed.

Public invited to annual prayer breakfast

The 20th annual Quad-Cities Prayer Breakfast will be Saturday, Sept. 27, at the RiverCenter, Davenport. Breakfast begins at 7 a.m., and the program is 8-10 a.m.

Featured speaker will be Dr. Robert Schuller, a pastor, TV speaker and media executive.

Music will be provided by Marshall Hall, former member of the Gaither Vocal Band and worship leader at Willow Creek Community Church. Jim Downing, the oldest survivor of Pearl Harbor and a refueling ship captain, will give a special testimony.

Ticket are $18 or $96 for a table of eight.

St. Anthony holds day of prayer

St. Anthony Church, Matherville, Ill., will hold its 34th annual day of prayer Thursday, Sept. 18. Guest speaker Monsignor Mark Merdian from St. Pius X, Rock Island, will speak on “Renewal of the Church Through New Evangelization”.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Morning prayer will be at 10 a.m. Mass will be at 2:30 p.m. Reconciliation available. Cost is $5, which includes a salad luncheon.
