Ambulance service collects for shelter

The ambulance service at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, Ill., will make a special pickup on Saturday. The ambulance staff will “Fill The Rig” to collect items for Winnie’s Place, a women’s and children’s shelter in Moline. 

Ambulances and staff will be parked from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Walmart, 1601 18th Ave., Silvis, and Jewel Food Store, 107 Avenue of the Cities, East Moline, to collect items and donations. 

The shelter’s needs include nonperishable food items, paper products, personal hygiene items, cleaning products, kitchen items, bus passes and cash donations.
