Mayor Marvin Watters said the house would not be of any real value to the village and the board will discuss the disposition of that structure at a later date. The garage can be used for storage, and the property could be of value if the village ever needs a new well, he added.
In other business, the board approved plans for the extension of sidewalks, requiring easements, changes at the bus loading and unloading area at the school and other work, all of which can be reimbursed through the Safe Routes to School federally funded project.
Plans have been made for the annual village ice cream social, scheduled for 5-7 p.m. Sept. 9 at the gazebo park area with music provided by “Hitman.”
Street Committee chairman Mike Petrovich said the blacktop work on streets west of U.S. 150 will be done in early October. Some drainage work needs to be completed beforehand, he noted.
