A Bettendorf chiropractor was cited for making “misleading, deceptive, untrue or fraudulent representation” by the Iowa Board of Chiropractic for failing to place the word “chiropractor” on all signs he used in connection with the business.

Jay Johannsen, owner and operator of Elite Health, 2393 Cumberland Square Drive, was ordered to pay a $500 civil penalty and received a warning that failure to “comply with the laws governing the practice of chiropractic in the future could result in further discipline."

Iowa code requires all licensed chiropractors to place the word “chiropractor” on all signs used by the licensee and prominently in the licensee’s office.
