A man is facing numerous charges, accused of sex acts with a child and possession of child pornography.
Joe A. Meier, 69, of Moline, has been indicted by a grand jury on four counts of child pornography and three of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, according to Rock Island County court records. The charges reference incidents alleged to have happened in September 2015. The case was investigated by the Moline Police Department.
Meier was initially charged on Oct. 3 by the Rock Island County State’s Attorney’s Office with the four child pornography counts, but the grand jury’s indictment replaces that initial complaint.
Meier remains in custody, according to court records. His bail has been set at $300,000, which means he will have to post a $30,000 bond to be released.
His next court date is scheduled for Friday.
