A Davenport man has been charged with five counts of sexual exploitation of a minor after Davenport police allege he possessed numerous visual depictions of minors engaging in or simulating sexual acts.
According to the arrest affidavits filed by Davenport Police detective Erin Pape, on July 14, police began an investigation into Loren Richard Long, 52, and the images in his possession.
Police determined that the numerous images were found to be child pornography in that they are visual depictions of children engaging in or simulating sexual acts.
A first offense of possessing a depiction of a minor in a sex act is an aggravated misdemeanor under Iowa law that carries a prison sentence of up to two years.
Long was being held Tuesday night in the Scott County Jail on $10,000 bond for the sexual exploitation charges. He also was being held on a $1,000 cash-only bond for failing to appear on a 2014 charge of fourth-degree criminal mischief.
