A man accused of threatening his neighbors with a firearm before barricading himself in a Moline residence Saturday has been charged.
Christian Ramirez, 27, of Rock Island has been charged with two misdemeanor counts of aggravated assault, according to Rock Island County court records. The charges stem from an accusation he pointed a pistol at two people on Saturday in Moline and manipulated the gun’s slide.
Moline Police said the confrontation happened about 8:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of 16th Street. After the alleged threat, Ramirez allegedly went into his residence and refused to come out when officers ordered him to do so.
Homes in the area were evacuated and the Moline-East Moline Crisis Containment Unit was called, police said. After some time, Ramirez came out and was arrested. A woman and a child were found unharmed inside the home.
Moline and East Moline officers were assisted by the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office and the Bettendorf Police Department.
Ramirez is next scheduled to appear in court Wednesday, according to court records.
He was free as of Monday on $10,000 bail, according to the Rock Island County Jail.
