Early voting, sometimes called absentee voting or satellite voting, begins today in Iowa. When casting your ballot early, you do not need to attend your polling place on Election Day. However, you must be a registered voter in order to participate in early voting.

One of the early voting options is to vote by mail, using an absentee ballot, prior to Election Day.

You can start as early as 120 days prior to an election. Beginning 29 days before the election, absentee ballots will be mailed out within 24 hours after receiving your absentee ballot request.

The smart phone app WhereUVote is a quick and easy way for Scott County voters to find a location to vote early or find their polling place on Election Day.

The app offers a variety of information including early voting sites, just by typing in your address.

To get connected, find the smartphone app WhereUvote, then specify which county you live in. It can be downloaded for both I-phone and Android phones.

As for the 2018 early voting satellite locations:

Ballots for all Scott County precincts are available at all locations. Voter registration forms are available for new registrations and changes to registrations for people already registered in the county.
