UPDATE: Lockdowns at two Davenport schools were lifted at about 12:15 p.m., almost one half-hour after Davenport police responded to a call about a suspicious subject in the 5300 block of North Gaines Street.
At 11:39 a.m., Davenport Police received a call about a subject spotted in the area of Davenport North High School. The caller described a person who had a firearm.
Multiple officers responded and conducted a search of the area, according to a report from police. Two schools, Davenport North, and Harrison Elementary School, were locked down as a precautionary measure.
Officers did stop one individual, but later determined that person was not involved. Officers said the call was not related to the schools, and remained in the area with no issues found, according to the report.
Two Davenport schools — Davenport North High School and Harrison Elementary School — have been placed on lockdown Tuesday, "because of an abundance of caution," district spokewoman Dawn Saul said.
A neighborhood situation has erupted that Davenport police are handling. Details of that situation were not immediately available.
Saul said she is not sure if the lockdown has been lifted. "We wait and let police do their job," she said.
