A road project to grade and place asphalt pavement on U.S. Highway 30 west of DeWitt has begun and will impact traffic until fall.

The Davenport construction office of the Iowa Department of Transportation announced that alternating lanes of traffic will be closed. But one lane will always be maintained with flaggers and pilot cars.

A detour route will be established at a later date.

Determann Asphalt, Camanche, was awarded the $3.99 million project.
