The remodeled whirlpool suite, one of 60 rooms that have been made over at the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson near the Quad-City International Airport in Moline.

Totally refurbished is the way one might describe the results of the nearly $1 million makeover of the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, located less than a half mile from the Quad-City International Airport.

Built in 1999, the hotel is nestled behind a McDonald’s at 2721 69th Ave. Court in Moline.

The recently completed makeover of the 60-room hotel features new curtains, newly painted walls, new beds, new chairs, sofas, lobbies and offices.

“It’s almost like brand new,” said John Shah, co-owner/manager of the Country Inn & Suites, which the ownership group purchased in December 2015. “Everything is remodeled to the standards of Country Inn & Suites.”

The rooms feature 32-inch flat screen TVs, a cherrywood desk and dressers, microwaves and refrigerators. In addition, the facility has a small swimming pool and a hot tub, in addition to a new exercise room with new equipment.

And yes, there is a breakfast area, too

A ribbon cutting is slated for 4 p.m. today.

Shah thinks along with the refurbishing, the hotel’s calling card is rates that he says are 15 percent cheaper than some of his main competition among the many hotels near the airport.

“You can see what the rates are and decide,” he said.

Country Inn & Suites by Radisson also features laundry areas, Shah said. “Everything is available,” he said.
