BETTENDORF - Albert L. “Bud” Perry, 85, of Bettendorf, formerly of West Alton, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 10, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. A memorial gathering will be held at Historic Summit Church, Utica Ridge Road, Davenport, on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2017, at the First Church of God in West Alton, Missouri where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017. Burial will be at Ebenezer Cemetery in West Alton, Missouri.
Albert was born February 1, 1932, to Albert W. and Mariette (Keene) Perry in West Alton, Missouri. He married A. Evelyn Springer on April 15, 1950; she went to be with the Lord on March, 1973. He married Shirley Goettsch on September 15, 1973. He worked for Alcan and Lou’s Service Station, Alton and several truck lines including Burlington, Hannibal-Quincy and Tucker, St. Louis, as well as Smith Transfer and Deutz Tractor Co., Davenport. Upon moving to Iowa in 1976, he farmed and was a member of the Foundation Beefmaster Assn. and Scott Co. Historical Society. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; children, Lois Perry of Union, Missouri, Jane (Keith) Skipper and Michael (Terrie) Perry, of Jerseyville, Illinois, Karla (Craig) Nelson of Bettendorf, and De Laine Perry of Covington, Washington; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph and T. Lee, and a granddaughter, Kristi Skipper.
