DAVENPORT — Anthony R. “Tony” Bostic, 61, of Davenport, passed away Friday Aug. 23, 2013, at home from liver cancer. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Bethel AME Church, 323 W. 11th St., Davenport. Visitation will be 10 a.m., one hour before service. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal.
Tony was born June 11, 1952, to Jimmie and Jacqueline Bostic. He graduated from Davenport Central High school in 1971, where he played football and went to state in wrestling. He is a veteran of the Navy. He joined and became a member of Bethel AME church in 2009.
Survivors include his mother, Jaqueline Bostic; brothers, Robert (Kathy) Bostic Corpus Christi, Texas, and Kirk (Cindy) Bostic; sisters, Teresa Bostic White, Yvonne Rudd, Tawniece Rudd and Dawnya Rudd- Forler (Dan), Davenport; daughters, Chantal Bostic and Tyraine Bostic, Davenport; sons, Michael Holman Davenport, and Mario (Jessica) Holman, Rock Island. Tony also is survived by nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, and his special friend — his dog, Cane.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jimmie D. Bostic; paternal grandparents, Tom and Eva Bostic; grandfather, Robert Norville; daughter, Antaria Bostic, and great-granddaughter, Nahlaya Gordon.
