TIPTON, Iowa — Dennis L. Treimer, 72, of Tipton, Iowa, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017 at his home.
Denny was born in Davenport on March 4, 1945, to Leroy and Dorothy Gluhm Treimer.
He graduated from Durant High School in 1963. Denny married Lynne P. Wiese on November 15, 1969, in Durant, Iowa. He farmed his entire life in Cedar and Muscatine counties.
He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard for six years. Denny was a member of MVPA, ASHHS, Tipton American Legion and the Rochester Snapper City Daze Committee. He was a Cedar County 4-H leader for many years.
He enjoyed tinkering and creating treasures out of nothing.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 25, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bentley Funeral Home in Durant.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Interment in the Durant Cemetery.
Denny is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Lynne; his daughter, Kerry Treimer of Polk City, Iowa; son, Dan Treimer of Rochester; nephews, Luke (Emily) Mizer of North Liberty and Doug (Heidi) Mizer of West Des Moines, and their children whom he thought of as grandchildren; sister, LeAnne (Doug) Blanchard of Garner, Iowa; brothers, David (Judy) Treimer of Bettendorf and Rodney Treimer of Durant.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter-in-law, Tami Simester Treimer; and his dog, Squirt.
