WILTON, Iowa — Irma Zinger, 88, of Wilton, Iowa, died Monday, May 6, 2013, at Bickford Cottage in Muscatine.
Irma was born Dec. 30, 1924, to Henry and Margaretha (Wellendorf-Arp) Behrens in Scott County. She married Anthony W. Zinger on Sept. 14, 1940, in Davenport. He preceded her in death on Aug. 5, 1989.
Irma owned and operated Zinger's Greenhouse in Wilton.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Wilton, Plus 50 Club and Durant Garden Club.
She made beautiful silk and fresh flower arrangements.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, May 10, at Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton. Additional visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Wilton. Interment will take place at Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughters, Constance McComber of Kingman, Ariz.; Bess and her husband, Larry Ruess, of Phoenix, and Laura Cox of Sun City, Ariz.; her sons, Anthony and his ,Nancy Zinger, of Fishers, Ind.; Andrew and his wife, Connie, Zinger of Muscatine, and Tim and his wife Terri Zinger of Letts, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-granchildren; and her brothers, Lester Behrens of Bettendorf, Rollo and his wife, Viola, Behrens of Davenport, and Wendlyn Behrens of Milan. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; her son, Edward. and daughter, Denise, her sisters, Elfreda, Leona and Anolla, and her brothers, Walter, Norman and Donald.
