BONITA SPRING, Fla. — Leigh Allan Fiedler of Bonita Spring, Fla., a former Moline resident, passed away Sept. 20, 2015, at his home. Leigh was born July 22, 1930, in Moline. He served in the Army after World War II and later attended the University of Arizona, where he met and married his wife, Andree Golaz, on Nov. 15, 1958.
The couple returned to Moline, where he worked as a mathematics professor at Black Hawk College and raised four sons. The four sons and their families are: Mark and wife Lena and son Angus; Luc and wife Anne; Stephan and wife Carrie; and Daniel and wife Ruth with four children Robert, John, Gwen and Rochelle and husband Patrick Schwigen with sons Olic and Arlo. Leigh received his doctorate degree in mathematics at the University of Oklahoma and was a member of First Covenant Church in Moline and later the First Presbyterian Church in Bonita Springs.
Leigh spent his retirement years in Florida and Switzerland, where he continued to enjoy travel, walks, classical music and visiting friends and family.
No services are planned. He will be later buried with his wife, Nyon, in Switzerland.
