IOWA CITY — Mark Alan Meier died Monday, December 4, 2017, at University Hospitals, surrounded by family.
Mark was born September 18, 1954, in Davenport. He is the son of Beverly Meier, and Dick Meier. He graduated from Davenport Central High in 1973. After graduating, he enriched his life traveling from the East to the West coast. He was called the Happy Hobo by his Mom. He finally settled in Iowa City in 1985. His son, Flannery, was born in 1987.
Survivors include his son, Flannery; mother, Bev; sisters, Chris Janes, Lisa (Steve) Shippey; sister-in-law, Kathy Meier, Marcia and Jerry Ludden and Dave Towle; stepmother, Dori Meier; and many nieces and nephews from all over.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother, father, brother and brother-in-law.
Mark loves a good football game and a beer with good friends. Please join us to celebrate Mark's farewell journey at VFW, 609 Hollywood Blvd, #2, Iowa City, on December 10, 2017, from 1 to 4 p.m.
We want to thank Mark's friends, Bruce Hoaglin and Mary Lou Brendel, Tina O'Quinn, Jennifer Wissink for their neverending love for Mark. Thank you for your support, and hugs, and visits through this time. We would also like to thank University Hospitals staff who took care of Mark and his family.
Hopefully Loras, Rick and Mark will not give the angels too hard of a time.
