CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Mary Anne Harris, 67, of Cape Coral, Fla., passed away peacefully in the presence of her family Tuesday, April 30, 2013, after a year-long battle with cancer. She was born Jan. 12, 1946, in Davenport, to William B. and Margaret A. (Lohf) Kelley Sr.
Mary Anne was a member of the 3rd Order Lay Carmelite since 1997 and a Faith Formation Teacher for 40 years. She served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and made visits to the sick and homebound for many years. She loved to go to the movies.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, John B. Harris; a son, Forrest Harris and wife Sheila, of Cape Coral; five daughters, Theresa Harris, of Salina, Kan., Laura Stein and husband Robert, of Spearville, Kan., Mary Bonner and husband William, of Edmond, Okla., Susan Branfort and husband Ryan, of Salina, and Anne Quintana, of Salina; three brothers, Bill Kelley, of Florida, Ed Kelley, of Illinois and Joseph Kelley and wife Rhonda, of Iowa; five sisters, Margie Urmie and husband Mike, Katie Randelman and husband Eric, Patty Cunningham and husband Doug, Colleen Kelley and Maureen Koepke and husband Larry, all of Iowa; 21 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 118 N. Ninth St., Salina, Kan., with Father Gale Hammerschmidt officiating. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Cathedral, where a vigil service with rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Inurnment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Spearville, Kan., at a time and date to be announced.
