FULTON, Ill. — Michael H. “Mikey” Jones, 31, of Fulton, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, at University Hospitals, Iowa City. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fulton. The Rev. Father Matthew Camaioni will be officiating. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, Fulton. Interment will be in Fulton Township Cemetery. Memorials have been established.
Michael was born Nov. 28, 1983, in Clinton, the son of Michael G. and “Winnie” J. (Lewis) Jones. Mikey was educated in the Fulton Grade Schools and was a graduate of Fulton High School. He received an associate’s degree from Clinton Community College. Mikey was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was a Chicago Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks and Cubs fan, and was also an avid NASCAR and NHRA (drag racing) fan. Mikey greatly enjoyed all aspects of journalism and had authored several articles for the Clinton Community College newspaper and the Clinton Herald newspaper. His greatest joy in life was being surrounded by and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his parents, Mike and Winnie Jones, Fulton; one sister, Angie (Jason) Bruggenwirth, Fulton; two brothers, Larry Jones and Pat Jones, both of Fulton; nieces and nephews; paternal grandparents, Robert and Phyllis Jones, Fulton; and special friends, Lindsay and Chuck. Predeceased relatives include his maternal grandparents, Winfred and Gladys Lewis.
