In conjunction with Family History Month this October, the Rock Island County Clerk has made birth, death and marriage indexes available online at rockislandcounty.org/CountyClerk.aspx?id=41154.
Record information, beginning in 1832 when the county clerk began keeping records, includes occupations, residences, causes of death, spouses, bride’s and groom’s parents, burials.
Non-certified paper copies of records are available for $5.
All physical copies of the records have been scanned and preserved in special acid-free envelopes to prevent deterioration.
The Rock Island County Clerk’s Office, located at 1504 3rd Ave., Rock Island, is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and available by phone at 309-558-3596.
Other services provided by the County Clerk’s office include voter registration, public notary, birth certificates, marriage licenses and certificates, death certificates, and delinquent tax collection.
