Locust crash

Two people were seriously injured in a head-on collision about 7:12 p.m. Monday on the 2300 block of Locust Street near Jersey Ridge Road in Davenport.

Two people — both drivers of sports utility vehicles — were seriously injured in a head-on collision about 7:12 p.m. Monday on the 2300 block of Locust Street near Jersey Ridge Road in Davenport.

Davenport Police said a white 2013 Lexus RX450h was traveling eastbound when the vehicle swerved into the westbound lanes of travel and struck a black 2004 Dodge Durango head-on. The Durango was traveling westbound.

The Lexus was occupied only by the driver, police said. The Durango was occupied by two juveniles. Both drivers sustained serious life-threatening injuries and were transported to Genesis Medical Center-East Rusholme.The passenger sustained minor injuries and was also transported to Genesis-East. Names have not been released.

The crash remains under investigation by the police department's Traffic Safety Unit.
