A debate in one of the nation's most high-profile U.S. Senate races will be in Davenport.

Democrat Bruce Braley and Republican Joni Ernst announced Thursday they have agreed to three debates, with one of them to be at 7 p.m. Oct. 11 sponsored by the Quad-City Times, KWQC-TV6 and St. Ambrose University.

The campaigns said in a joint news release they'll also debate in Des Moines and Sioux City. They said details would be determined in partnership with the debate sponsors in the coming days.

The Senate debate in the Quad-Cities will be the second congressional debate of the day.

Democrat Dave Loebsack and Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks have agreed to debate each other in Davenport at 4 p.m. It, too, is being sponsored by the Times, KWQC and St. Ambrose.

Both debates will be held at the Galvin Fine Arts Center on the St. Ambrose campus. Both are free and open to the public.

The Senate debate will be broadcast live on KWQC-TV6. The House debate is scheduled to be live-streamed on the Times and KWQC websites and be broadcast later.

In addition to debating in the Quad-Cities, Ernst and Braley have agreed to a Sept. 28 debate in Des Moines, to be sponsored by the Des Moines Register and KCCI-TV

Their last debate will be Oct. 16. It will be sponsored by KCAU-TV and will be held in Sioux City, according to the campaigns.
